Dr. Navina Jafa is presently the Vice President of Centre for New Perspectives (CNP), a non-profit non-government body under the Registration of societies act. The organization functions as a think tank which is a platform for knowledge convergence with the present mandate focusing on Sustainable Development & Peace through traditional knowledge. CNP aims at bringing together grass-roots organizations engaged with communities with Traditional Skills and potential funding agencies. In any program that CNP takes up the main objective is to encourage the executing organizations to approach contemporary problems through holistic capacity building of the entire ecosystem of traditional skills.
The Center works as a knowledge partner to:
- Create strategies through various workshops, training programs addressing the present mandate.
- Organizes to address seminal project objectives: Seminars, debates towards creation of knowledge networks among ground actors working in specific terrains of development, environment, peace, cultural economics and policy.
- The present focus of the Centre is on creating a Traditional Skill Corridor and the Creation of Livelihoods through environmental conservation.
- Centre for New Perspectives aims to mainstream traditional knowledge skills to address complex environmental and economic problems.
